Lexi B spoke at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign in September and spoke about how to use your privilege to support others in the workplace. During this diversity keynote, she challenged engineering undergraduates to better understand themselves in order to support diversity efforts in the technology industry. If you understand who you are, then you will know your levels of privilege. If you know your layers of privilege, you can successfully use them to help someone who may not have that privilege. Diversity is deeper than recruitment numbers. We all play a part in making the world a better place.
